PHOTOGRAPHER BRISBANE
Architecture photography is something we have done right from the very beginning of All Is Light. As architectural photographers, we most often work with architects and builders who want to visually document their finished projects. This sort of work is quite technical but very enjoyable. It’s all about wide angle vistas combined with tightly shot details. It’s about bringing out the best of the building with the right light and angles. There is a lot precision involved, perhaps more so than with other types of photography we do. It actually has much in common with advertising & product photography – it’s just in this case the product happens to be a large building.
When working with the designer, architect or builder our priority is to ensure we capture the essence and detail of their work. It’s very satisfying work and often results in really amazing and beautiful photography. Lots of textures, colours, shapes and lines. Sometimes it can look very much like minimalist artwork. We use the drone quite a lot in this space too, to ensure we really cover the architectural project from all angles.
Travel photographer
Travel photography is something we really love and it tends to fall into two categories. Firstly we travel for our clients to capture photography for them in distant locations. Clients that know and work with us will often prefer to send us to a location, rather than source someone locally. We have an established relationship and provide consistently excellent results. It’s so easy to travel these days too.
The second category is when we do photography for personal work. Who doesn’t love having amazing photos from a trip away right? Definitely one of the fringe benefits of being a photographer – the vacations shots are killer. Often this personal work can then spill over into business when we licence images for clients to use. We always make sure to return from our trips with incredible captures of the places we’ve visited. This means getting up super early most mornings and chasing that beautiful early morning light that makes everything look spectacular. When travelling, we’re always up before sunrise looking for photo gold. This is when we tend to do most of our general landscape photography as well. Landscapes are often the gateway medium for many aspiring photographers, myself included. It’s a way to appreciate and capture the beauty of the world around us. Plus you don’t have to ask the landscape for permission as you do with portraits.
In fact architecture, travel and landscape photography are all very much linked and often include all three aspects in one photo.
