I have the privelege and pleasure of working closely with Digital Brisbane, which is part of Brisbane Marketing. They’re a great bunch to work with, and they have some really diverse programs and initiatives.

One of these is the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Budding Entrepreneurs Program. You can find out more about it here

In essence it provides practical support to some of the city’s best emerging technology startups.

It offers up to $5000 grants for entrepreneurs to attend a startup event or conference, obtain professional advice, join a support program, undertake education or participate in a trade mission.

I’ve been asked to photograph the candidates for the last couple of rounds of funding. It’s a lot of fun and amazing to meet these young entrepreneurs and hear about their ideas .

This time around we mixed it up a bit and instead of just taking some head shots of each candidate, we also set up an environmental portrait. All of this was done inside the collaborative workspace, The Capital. It’s a really funky new space in the heart of the city, and offers plenty of opportunity for portrait backdrops.

Anyway, I really enjoyed these portraits and like how they came out, so felt to share them here on the blog. I’ve put the headshot alongside the portrait for easy viewing.

Check them out and please feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments section.
