Around a week ago I returned from a 2 week work visit to Sweden. It also allowed me to visit some very dear family and friends that I have over there.
The 10th of January 2019 marked 30 years to the day that I arrived in Sweden to spend a year as an exchange student.
This was an incredible experience for me given I’d hardly even travelled outside my home state.
I lived with the Lindqvist family in a town called Umeå, way up in northern Sweden. The Lindqvists, Lena and Sven Olof, are a second family to me, and I have 2 brothers plus nieces and nephews. They feel as close to my heart as true family does.
Sweden feels like a second home to me. I speak Swedish, I have friend and family there and I just love the place.
I’ll keep this short and sweet and let the photos do the talking.
Suffice it to say, it’s picture-postcard beautiful, especially in winter. Coldest day we had was -22. Even the Swedes though it was cold :).
Enjoy a little taste of Sverige.
See you next time
Stunning Dean, you’ve captured something very special here.
Thanks Suzanne, it’s a place close to my heart so these photos are a reflection of that.
Beautiful sharing Dean. Reminding me of my Finnish roots, time spent there and the dear people close to my heart too.
Thank you Sarah, this trip reminded me of how important family and friends are, and not to let distance get in the way of connecting
Dean love the photos and learned something about you too which is so lovely about the sharing.
Thanks Lee, I appreciate you checking it out and taking the time to comment. There is a video coming, just need to find some space to put it together …
Dean I love it when you travel, I get to see these amazing images. So inspiring makes me want to travel!!
Thanks Elijah. We’ll have to travel together again sometime soon.
